Highlights & Must-Sees
Best Time to Visit
October to April (dry season). The beach is excellent November–March. Avoid May–September completely due to intense monsoon rains and rough seas.
How to Get There
Fly from Yangon to Thandwe Airport (~1 hour), then a short taxi to the beach. There is no practical overland route for most visitors.
Visitor Tip
Most resorts are located mid-beach. Many local guesthouses are available in the fishing villages at lower prices. Bring cash — ATMs are unreliable. Haggle gently for seafood prices at beach restaurants.
